Our Team

  • Ashley Wittig, Owner & CEO

Ashley brings over 30 years of equine knowledge to the team, providing experience with hunter/jumpers, three-day eventing, western, and driving horses. She directs all of our equine activities, and makes sure we adhere to the foundational principles behind classical horsemanship. Ashley strongly believes in allowing both horse & rider to develop and learn at their own pace, and focuses on safety, groundwork, and proper conditioning to help them achieve their goals. Ashley also possesses a degree in Forensic Chemistry, and has extensive experience designing, managing, and implementing professional training programs.

  • John Miller, Owner & COO

John brings over 20 years of operational experience to our team. Having spent the bulk of his time optimizing and improving professional laboratory operations across the US, John now applies his extraordinary skills to making sure Burning Daylight runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.

  • Jesse Finer, Owner & VP of Logistics

As our VP of Logistics, Jesse ensures that our infrastructure is sound and everything is running smoothly. He has completely updated the switches and wiring for our stalls, and has made sure that every horse has individually controllable fans for their comfort. Jesse has also been integral to renovating the stalls & fences, and is perhaps most famous for being the proud owner of our Clydesdale, Red.

  • Mike & Georgia Greenwell, Owners

Mike & Georgie generously agreed to be part of our adventure, and bring a wealth of experience to our team in the form of operational and logistical excellence. Having several years of military experience between them from all over the globe, Mike & Georgie can be counted on to ensure we are all staying focused on our efforts and staying as organized as possible - which can certainly be a challenge some days! As parents and grandparents, they also provide an important voice representing the families and support teams in our industry and offer valuable contributions on how we can get families and communities more involved with our horses.

  • Joe & Jen Head, Directors of Support

As our Directors of Support, Joe & Jen make sure the REALLY important stuff doesn’t get forgotten, such as moving (ALL!) the furniture into our new home, and reminding us about when the latest Marvel movie is coming out (thanks, Joe!). They are also in charge of keeping us environmentally focused by assisting with our endeavors to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible, and are pioneering our composting venture by utilizing our compost in their home garden. Joe is a highly trained chemist with a Masters Degree from Northeastern Illinois University, and Jen is a skilled speech therapist who has dedicated herself to helping others recover & regain function after various injuries and ailments. Both Joe & Jen are dedicated divers, having logged thousands of hours underwater all over the world.

  • Helen Baker, Senior Marketing Analyst

Helen joins us from Louisville, KY, and makes sure all of our content is cohesive and easy to consume. As a parent, grandparent, and lifelong horse lover, Helen represents the unsung heroes of our industry - the support team! Helen has spent many hours on the rail cheering us on and offering valuable feedback. She also offers a shoulder to cry on, a sounding board for new ideas, and (when needed) a kick in the butt to keep us all moving in the right direction. Helen also brings experience from the dog show world, having bred & shown both weimaranaers and bloodhounds.

  • Victor Monkey, Head of Security

At just 9 years old, Vic became the Head of Security for our new venture. He brings with him years of experience as the Chief Checker of Things, and the Supervisor of All Goings-On. Prior to accepting his new role, Vic was in charge of holding down the couch (an activity he still enjoys) and general nosiness (which he also still enjoys).
